Albany Park Chamber of Commerce (a division of the North River Commission, listed in Social-Service Providers) – This membership-based group that provides services and resources to strengthen and physically improve to area businesses, promotes the community through tours and marketing, and works in partnership with the NRC to attract new business and investment to the community.  The Chamber works together with NRC’s development affiliate, the Lawrence Avenue Development Corporation (LADCOR), to beautify and physically improve commercial districts, stimulate development, and make Albany Park, Mayfair and North Park communities a premier destination for culture, dining, shopping and entertainment on Chicago’s northwest side.

The Albany Park Chamber of Commerce also administers the SSA district which includes Lawrence Avenue (North Shore Channel to Kimball), Montrose (North Shore Channel to Central Park), Kedzie Avenue (Ainslie to Irving Park) and Kimball (Ainslie to Berteau), Irving Park Road (Spaulding to Sacramento). Facebook | Website

Lawrence/Pulaski TIF District – Located within the Albany Park community, the Lawrence/Pulaski TIF district is characterized by a mix of commercial, residential, institutional and industrial uses and vacant land. The purpose of the 106-acre TIF is to make the area more appealing for private business investment by improving its character, parking availability, traffic flow and mix of stores. Specific priorities include exterior and interior renovations to existing structures, the development of new commercial projects on underutilized and vacant land, infrastructure enhancements that improve streetscapes, and mixed-income housing as part of new mixed-use projects. Increment from the district is also targeted for job training and day care services that benefit area residents and workers. Only project listed on the City’s site is for the as-yet-unfinished Thai Town on Pulaski.

Lawrence/Kedzie TIF District – Characterized by multi-family residential buildings, mixed-use commercial properties, and numerous institutional and open space sites in the North Park and Albany park community areas, the 407-acre Lawrence/Kedzie TIF is intended to promote a wide variety of neighborhood improvements. Priorities include new and rehabilitated commercial projects, the rehabilitation of existing residential properties, the replacement of obsolete commercial and industrial buildings with a mix of market rate and affordable housing uses, enhanced off-street parking opportunities, and improved greenways along the Chicago River and North Branch Channel. Additional goals include façade improvements along local shopping corridors, institutional investments, the establishment and expansion of job training programs, and expanded day care opportunities for area residents. Projects listed include school expansions and build-outs, plus park-related intergovernmental agreements.
